Mattress major Tempur Sealy International Inc. is continuing its commitment to the work of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine’s Neurodiagnostics and Sleep Science Program. The Lexington, Kentucky based manufacturer was named as the program’s exclusive “Platinum Partner for 2015.”
Results of studies conducted by the university are being used to further develop the Tempur Sealy product portfolio and will help the mattress maker continue its conversation with consumers on how to achieve a better night’s sleep, a Tempur Sealy news release said. The company has used university findings on spine support and alignment to improve its Sealy Posturepedic mattress and Tempur-Pedic pillow designs.
Tempur Sealy also is funding five university scholarships for the 2015-2016 school year in the UNC NDSS program.
“Our mission at Tempur Sealy is to always deliver transformative, restful sleep to consumers,” said Dan Query, Tempur Sealy senior vice president of global product development. “Working closely with leading authorities on sleep science at UNC Chapel Hill is a big part of making good on that promise each and every night. The faculty and students in the School of Medicine share in Tempur Sealy’s desire to develop products, equipment and new ideas that enhance the science of sleep.”
