Buying group BrandSource, with headquarters in Tustin, California, has promoted Tom Bennett from vice president of sales to president, a new position for the company, and named Executive Vice President John White to the newly created post chief marketing officer for appliances. The two report to Jim Ristow, BrandSource chief operating officer.
Among their first assignments is the organization of regional gatherings where members can network—sharing ideas and developing mutually beneficial working relationships, a BrandSource news release said.
Bennett joined the company in 2012 and was instrumental in helping BrandSource members adopt a new mobile app. In his new post, he primarily is responsible for boosting membership.
White, who joined the company in 2004 and was named EVP of appliances in 2010, is responsible for creating and executing marketing strategies across all product and service categories.
“We intend to make BrandSource the gold standard for independent retailers of all sizes and in all of the categories that we serve,” Ristow said. “Tom and John are the best people in the business to help make this goal a reality and I have every confidence that 2015 will be a banner year for us.”
