Specialty mattress maker Dormeo N.A., with headquarters in Plano, Texas, has announced that Houston-based Sinomax USA Inc. is taking an equity stake in the company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Sinomax, a sleep products manufacturer, supplies Dormeo pillows, toppers and other items.
“We are extremely pleased to enter into this important strategic partnership with Sinomax,” said Jon Stowe, Dormeo N.A. chief executive officer. “Their global scale, extensive supply-chain expertise and broad industry relationships will provide Dormeo with significant operational advantages going forward.”
Of the deal, Sinomax USA President and CEO Frank Chen said, “Dormeo’s revolutionary, proprietary products are unique in the sleep products industry. We see this as a great opportunity and are excited to work with their management team to expand the company’s reach throughout the world.”
Dormeo has produced mattresses for European and Asian markets for more than a decade, entering the North American market in 2012. The company, part of multichannel direct-marketing conglomerate Studio Moderna Group, is known for its patented Octaspring foam bedding system.
