Atlanta-based mattress major Simmons Bedding Co. LLC has once again supported its local firefighters by donating mattresses to a fire department, and there’s a video to prove it.
On Oct. 3, the company delivered 150 Beautyrest mattress sets to the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Department as part of its Firehouse Recharge initiative. The mattresses will outfit bunkrooms in DCFRD’s 26-station department covering 15 communities.
Now in its third year, the initiative has donated more than 350 mattresses to the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, enough to replace every mattress in the department’s 35 stations. Simmons said it hopes to expand the firehouse donation program throughout the state.
“The goal is to be a good neighbor and hopefully make a difference for firefighters—who make a difference in so many people’s lives on a daily basis,” said Tony Smith, Serta Simmons Bedding president of sales, in the just-released video about the firehouse donation program.
