Luxury bed maker Vispring recently welcomed Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, to its headquarters in Plymouth, United Kingdom. The countess is the wife of Prince Edward, youngest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.
The royal visit was in honor of Vispring’s ongoing support for the Campaign for Wool — a global initiative founded by the Prince of Wales — and included a tour of the company’s manufacturing facility and new showroom.
Vispring uses more Platinum Certified pure British fleece wool than any other bed maker in the world, according to a news release.
Factory craftsmen were on hand, showing the countess how wool is used in Vispring mattresses, and demonstrating the entire manufacturing process.
“We are very grateful to the Countess of Wessex for taking the time to visit our factory,” said Mike Meehan, Vispring managing director. “We are devoted to using only the finest natural materials and highest standards of craftsmanship to make our bespoke beds and mattresses, so it has been a great honor to have the opportunity to show Her Royal Highness the process first hand.”
