Mattress manufacturer Sound Sleep Products has increased its manufacturing capacity with the opening of a 120,000-square-foot facility in Sumner, Washington, that is now the company’s headquarters.
It closed the former Sumner plant, which was 45,000 square feet. The company continues to operate a 20,000-square-foot facility in Tacoma, Washington.
“Our new facility represents an investment in Sound Sleep’s future, following the acquisition of Oregon Mattress Co. in 2015,” said John Larsen, owner and chief executive officer. “It also stands as a statement of our faith and success in manufacturing in the USA and the Pacific Northwest.”
The plant, which the company says is equipped with the latest in technology, includes 27 docks and a 20,000-square-foot area specifically dedicated to inbound and outbound shipping.
“Our new plant design positions us to dramatically increase our production and logistical capabilities, maintaining our consistent commitment to safe operation,” said Raymee Delaney, chief operating officer.
