Buffalo, New York-based mattress licensing group Restonic has announced that a new entity, Visionary Sleep, led by industry veteran Bob Sherman, has purchased Restonic licensees Alliance Sleep and Sleep Products Inc.
Visionary Sleep will continue with the Restonic group as its largest licensee. Its management group includes Sherman as chief executive officer; his wife, Barbara Bradford, as president; and Jay Patel, chief manufacturing officer. Laurie Tokarz, former president of Alliance, is chief sales officer.
Sherman left Serta in 2013 after a 25-year tenure, during which he guided the brand to be No. 1 in sales in the United States, unseating rival Sealy, and together with Bradford racked up multiple accomplishments, including the highly successful launch of Serta iComfort. Patel is a former Serta executive, as well.
“Bob and Barbara’s heritage and natural understanding of the mattress industry will be a dynamic asset for the Restonic brand,” said Ron Passaglia, Restonic president and CEO.
“Their passion for excellence will be a great benefit for our Restonic team, retailers and today’s consumers. Our entire team is excited about the future and working together to increase the value of Restonic in today’s marketplace.”
