Heritage Sleep Concepts, a mattress manufacturer and licensee of the Eclipse International and Eastman House brands since 2015, has added industry veteran Bob Ashburn to its board of directors.
Ashburn serves as the Rome, Georgia-based company’s executive vice president of sales and has a long relationship working with the Spears family, owners of Heritage Sleep. He also was part of its previous company, Spears Mattress Co./Advanced Sleep Concepts, also based in Rome. As a board member, Ashburn is tasked with guiding the company’s marketing strategy.
In addition, Heritage Sleep has hired Kenneth Tatum as vice president of sales. Tatum’s background includes nearly 20 years of mattress industry experience. Most recently, he was a regional sales manager for a Restonic licensee. Prior to that, he was with Southerland Sleep. His background also includes retail furniture sales.
In his new post, Tatum has responsibility for directing the sales team and building the company’s customer base.
“We are very excited to have Bob join the board and help us chart our strategic direction for many years to come,” said Terry Spears, Heritage Sleep chair. “His experience and profound insight into our business will help us better service our dealers in the Southeast. Likewise, Kenneth joins our team with a strong sales management and mattress industry background. His unique approach in combining product and process management will provide dealers a clear alternative and further differentiate our offering to give them a greater edge in their market.”
“With Kenneth and Bob as part of our management team, Heritage Sleep Concepts is positioned to respond to the rapidly changing needs of the market as a high-quality and low-cost producer,” he said.
