According to MFI International, a supplier of manufacturing services with headquarters in El Paso, Texas, its new plant in Jimenez, Mexico, now is fully operational.
The company bought the 90,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in October 2016 and began operations in November. MFI also has plants at its headquarters in El Paso, as well as two in Juarez, Mexico.
“MFI expects its growth to continue at a fast pace in the next few years,” said Daniel Desperak, director of manufacturing for Mexico. “This additional manufacturing footprint enables our company to maintain a more stable and better balanced workforce at all of our facilities in both Mexico and the United States. With this added capacity, we will also be able to offer new programs and services for customers at our other manufacturing facilities.”
The Jimenez facility currently employs 70 people and will increase to 150 employees by the end of the year, the company said in a news release. MFI has more than 400 employees companywide.
