Latex bedding manufacturer Kymdan Rubber Stock Co., headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has earned two environmental claim validations from Underwriters Laboratories for its natural latex mattresses.
UL Environment Inc., which is based in Northbrook, Illinois, has validated Kymdan’s claims that the bedding maker’s natural latex mattresses are bacterial resistant and fungal resistant. This gives Kymdan Rubber the right to display the ULE Environmental Claims Validation logo.
Established in 1954, Kymdan is a family-owned manufacturer of natural latex pillows and mattresses that sells its products around the world. The company has a branch in Australia and, in 2017, established an American subsidiary, Kymdan America Inc., based in Cerritos California. In Vietnam, Kymdan operates a 1.16-million-square-foot production facility that uses state-of-the-art manufacturing automation, and is equipped with a full research and testing laboratory.
“Many latex rubber mattress manufacturers and marketers make claims about bacterial- and fungal-resistant properties,” said Qui Tran, executive secretary of Kymdan America. “However, we are the only brand in the mattress and bedding industry to receive this environmental claim validation. … We subjected our latex mattress materials to UL testing and received formal validation supporting our … claims for our latex rubber materials.”
