Here’s a venue to consider for your next meeting or small conference—a movie theater.
Think about it. Many movie theaters offer stadium seating, good visibility, the latest audiovisual technology, and food and drinks on-site, according to a Sept. 25 article in The New York Times.
For the movie theaters, it’s an additional source of income. For businesses, it’s a novel, lower cost space with plenty of parking.
It fits with the International Association of Conference Centers’ report, “Predicting the Future of Meetings.” The report, released in June, found “a greater interest in adoption of new technology and a preference for novelty and shorter meeting sessions,” according to The New York Times. The “2017 Global Forecast” by American Express Meetings and Events expressed similar ideas.
