Phoenix-based mattress manufacturer and retailer Brooklyn Bedding, which operates 19 retail locations in Arizona and Utah, as well as an e-commerce site, has added a new model.
The Brooklyn Aurora, priced to retail at $1,699 in queen size, brings the number of beds the company sells online to two and the number it sells in-store to nine. The company’s original online boxed bed, the Signature, retails for $750 in queen.
The Aurora is a smooth-top hybrid mattress with a breathable panel and comfort layers over a pocketed-coil core. Its top foam layer is proprietary TitanFlex, a rapid-response, gel-infused viscoelastic foam that mimics the feel of latex. The foam has TitanCool, a proprietary surface treatment with phase-change material.
“Brooklyn Bedding always strives to create extraordinary value when building mattresses,” said John Merwin, owner and chief executive officer. “In designing the Brooklyn Aurora we (used) the high-end materials, advanced technology and quality construction on which we have built our reputation.”
He added that, as a manufacturer, the company is able to respond quickly to customer feedback. “Our customers wanted a mattress that could better adapt to individual body temperature and maintain a consistent cooling effect throughout the sleep experience,” he said. “That solution had to be designed at an affordable price. We believe no customer should have to pay $4,000 to get a luxurious mattress.”
Because Brooklyn is vertically integrated and manufactures its own products at its Phoenix factory, shoppers at the company’s brick-and-mortar stores are able to request a wide range of customizations to any of the mattresses sold in-store, the company said. Those who shop online enjoy no-hassle returns of either of the company’s compressed, rolled and boxed products, during a 120-day trial period.
