WHAT: Forging Freedom Anti-Human Trafficking Event
Malouf, with headquarters in Logan, Utah, will host a second Forging Freedom event that launches a new industry-focused campaign to raise awareness of the signs of child sex trafficking and what to do about it. The sleep accessories supplier’s philanthropic arm The Malouf Foundation shone a spotlight on the global problem of human trafficking at the Winter Las Vegas Market, raising more than $120,000 targeted to help children trapped in commercial sexual exploitation.
At the upcoming gathering, Malouf’s partners Operation Underground Railroad and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force will update attendees on how monies raised were used in rescue operations in Cambodia and in the United States.
“Every single person in the industry has the power to make a huge impact in ending child sex trafficking,” says Sam Malouf, chief executive officer. “We’re on a mission to make everyone aware of the signs of exploitation and trafficking, from owners to sales associates to delivery drivers, and what steps to take when (you) see them. If we all (make) the effort to notice these things when we travel, when we’re delivering products to homes, and even when in our own neighborhoods, we can end human trafficking.”
