Independent producer Gold Bond Mattress, with headquarters in Hartford, Connecticut, has hired Ken Mazda to the new post of vice president of key accounts. He is tasked with expanding the manufacturer’s existing business with major retailers.
Mazda has a background in retailing mattresses and other home furnishings and most recently was general manager for the Philadelphia location of discount retailer The Dump. Prior to that, he was principal and president of a six-store America’s Mattress franchise. His background also includes stints with the former Dial-a-Mattress and the former Nationwide Discount Sleep Centers.
“Ken is a master retailer that really understands how to merchandise the selling floor and maximize traffic and profit,” said Robert Naboicheck, Gold Bond president. “He is a great addition to our team because he can work with our retailers to grow their business through innovative product selection, marketing and sales training.”
Commenting on his post, Mazda said: “There has never been a time of greater opportunity for strong independent manufacturers like Gold Bond. While larger manufacturers are distracted by several significant challenges and Chinese importers are being squeezed by tariffs, strong domestic manufacturers like our company can really provide great value, quality and service to retailers.”
