Mattress licensing group Spring Air International, based in Chelsea, Massachusetts, said a newly formed product development committee composed of members from its U.S. licensees is overhauling the Back Supporter line. In addition to creating a fresh new collection, the goal is for all licensees to manufacture and sell the same models made to the same specifications and sold at the same prices.
“The consistent design not only offers consumers in New York the same mattress as those in California, it will also look the same to those who research their purchase online at Spring-Air.com and then visit a Spring Air dealer,” said Nick Bates, president of the licensing group. “That should eliminate a lot of confusion. (The committee) has been a great way to tap into the experience and expertise of each of our licensees. Previously, all key decisions were being made at the corporate office, but this is a much more collaborative approach.”
The zoned innerspring collection is expected to retail from $599 to $1,299 in queen size, and licensees will have a choice of two cover styles.
