Sleep products supplier Malouf, headquartered in Logan, Utah, has expanded its in-house legal team with the addition of Michelle Laverty, former lead intellectual property analyst for a Fortune 500 company.
Laverty collaborates with the Malouf product development and marketing teams to bolster the company’s portfolio of copyrights, patents and trademarks. Before joining Malouf, Laverty led strategic analysis of the intellectual property portfolio for Emerson Climate Technologies.
Commenting on the new position, Sam Malouf, chief executive officer, said: “As the director of intellectual property, Michelle will play an essential role in building our brand strategy. Through her focused and strategic initiatives, we can continue to offer the latest in sleep solutions and bedding technology.”
Laverty said: “Malouf is more than a bedding company — it’s a technology company. They have a strong intellectual property presence, and I hope to bring my two decades of experience to enhance that presence and give our customers the best possible experience.”
