The Malouf Foundation, the charitable arm of sleep products supplier Malouf, officially launched Rooms Restored Jan. 27 at its most recent Forging Freedom event during the Winter Las Vegas Market. Through this new program, businesses, children’s advocacy centers and community members work together to redesign the bedrooms of children who were victims of sexual abuse in their homes. The goal is to remove visual triggers of abuse and help children heal.
“Over these past few years, it’s been humbling to see so many individuals and businesses join the fight against human trafficking and sexual exploitation,” said Sam Malouf, co-founder of the Malouf Foundation, during his Forging Freedom address. “We want to keep that momentum going with this initiative that aligns perfectly with our second primary focus, which is to provide comfort and care for abuse victims.”
The Malouf Foundation, based in Logan, Utah, initiates the bedroom makeover process by connecting a participating business with a children’s advocacy organization in its area, which then locates children in need of this service.
Kelly Gunville, a buyer for Conlin’s Furniture, is ready to get her team involved with the Rooms Restored program and to make an impact on children in need.
“Rooms Restored is a great opportunity to make a difference,” Gunville said. “We are starting in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where the community is eager to help out and spread the word. Conlin’s Furniture is happy to partner with the Malouf Foundation on this life-changing cause.”
