SABA starts construction of new company building with sustainable character
Dinxperlo, 10 December 2020 – In early December, an official start was made on the construction of the new SABA headquarters. SABA develops and produces high-quality, innovative adhesives and sealants for construction and industry. The SABA complex will be built to support future growth with a keen focus on creating a space that supports the health of our people and the environment.
“Sustainability is an extremely important issue at SABA. The same applies for our new building. The office building will be completely energy-neutral and solar panels will provide for the energy requirements of both the offices and, in part, the plant”, explains SABA CEO Wybren de Zwart. A heating network will also be installed. Surplus heat from the production process will be stored here in the treated water cellar of the sprinkler system. This will be used to heat the offices in winter, for example.
Tripling of production volume
The new SABA complex will have two main functions: production and providing a modern office & research space. The new building will create a single central location where all SABA corporate functions are brought together again. In order to meet the growing requirements of customers, the automation level in the production processes will be increased enormously. As a result, in the new state-of-the-art factory, SABA will be able to triple its production volume.
Energy-efficient and sustainable
The new SABA company building was designed by Te Kiefte Architecten (TKA) of Borne and will make an image-defining change to the entrance to the De Rietstap industrial estate in Dinxperlo. As Henk te Kiefte of TKA puts it: “As an agency, we believe in energy efficiency and sustainability as the basis for innovative architecture, with gardens and landscaping, architecture and interiors all reinforcing each other. The new SABA building promises to be a fine example of that.” The building is expected to be complete in mid-2022.
