Mattress components supplier Jomel Industries has purchased its Kentucky plant, which is 68,000-square-feet and located in Burkesville, Kentucky.
The Hillside, New Jersey-based company has had its cut-and-sew facility, part of its Jomel Seams Reasonable business, in Burkesville for the past 3.5 years, specializing in the production of quilted and smooth-top zippered covers.
Jomel President Phil Iuliano said the company bought the plant “due to the qualified and available sewers that worked at the existing facility while it operated as a garment factory.”
“Additionally, Cumberland County has a large pool of talented labor available due to other production facilities being moved out of the country,” he said. “We are very excited and proud to be operating in the United States.”
Jomel, which was founded in 1993, has more than 100 employees at its plants in Trinity, North Carolina; Burkesville; and Hillside.
