ZedBed licensed to sell Natura brand throughout Canada
Natura World founder Ralph Rossdeutscher, who regained control of the brand’s intellectual property following the bankruptcy of its former owner Sommex, has licensed the brand to Shawinigan, Quebec-based Zedbed, which is authorized to sell Natura products throughout Canada.
Zedbed also purchased one of two shuttered Sommex plants earlier this year where it is manufacturing Natura goods, according to local news reports.
David Gélinas, Zedbed executive vice president, said in May that “The new factory has been up and running for a month and a half, and things are running smoothly.” He added that 30,000 square feet are dedicated to producing Natura goods. “Natura is a perfect complement to our memory foam line of beds,” he said.
Zedbed displayed a dozen Natura models, as well as Natura sleep accessories, in its show space at the May 28-30 Canadian Furniture Show in Toronto.
Turkey and Kuwait licensees added
In a separate announcement, Rossdeutscher said he has signed licensing agreements with manufacturer and retailer BRN Sleep Products in Turkey and manufacturer Latex Furniture Factory, a subsidiary of American Mattress of Kuwait.
According to a news release, BRN distributes products to 62 countries.
Latex Furniture Factory sells in Egypt, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.
