Mattress licensing group Therapedic International, headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, gave college students in the United States an opportunity to win a $500 gift card to their university bookstore.
To be entered to win the Therapedic Share Your Dream Scholarship, applicants wrote an essay of 400 words or fewer describing their dream and how college will help them accomplish it.
Information was provided at Therapedic’s Facebook page and in a Google Docs file. The winner, Nicole Eno, a nursing major at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan, was announced Aug. 1.
In her winning essay, Eno wrote, “To me, nursing incorporated the best aspects of my dream job. I knew that whatever profession I chose to pursue in life … that I wanted to give back to my community and provide a service that would make the lives of others better–by being able to make a deep connection with the people of my community, and meeting unique people of all backgrounds; working in a positive environment surrounded by coworkers with whom I can build everlasting relationships; and, most importantly, being able to help others, and make a difference.”
The first annual Therapedic scholarship award had over 400 entrants.
