Bowling for foster kids
Sleep Train’s 11th annual Pajama Bowl drew more than 900 participants and raised nearly $169,000 for local foster children in Washington and Oregon. Funds raised go directly to 14 nonprofit foster organizations to support kids’ activities such as dance classes, school field trips, sports teams, music lessons and summer camp.
“Thanks to all of the generous families, organizations and businesses who raised funds for the event, we’ll be able to provide even more opportunities this year for foster children to participate in the activities that helped shape us all into well-rounded successful adults,” said Gina Davis, vice president of marketing for the Rocklin, California-based retailer.
The top-scoring teams from both Washington and Oregon received a queen-size Simmons Beautyrest mattress for each team member. The winning team
from Washington was Steak Cattle & Roll. In Oregon, the winning team was the Striking Divas.
