Airweave, a Tokyo-based supplier of mattress toppers, has introduced an 8 ½-inch mattress made from the same plastic resin fiber used in its toppers.
The mattress is available in all sizes, with the queen size retailing for about $1,300. Airweave products are sold online, and the company has a store in New York’s SoHo area.
Airweave products are used by a number of athletes, and the company is supporting the U.S. Olympic Committee this year by providing 300 portable toppers for athletes competing in the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
According to the company, its products are lightweight, breathable and help to lower body temperature, resulting in more restful sleep. They are constructed of 3-D entwined plastic resin fibers that are both springy and resilient, allowing sleepers to turn over easily and providing pressure-point relief.
