Mega Group USA concluded its fall convention Aug. 24 in Nashville, Tennessee, by introducing its membership to a number of bedding exclusives, as well as new reputation-management software.
The Germantown, Tennessee-based buying group unveiled a new Serta offering for Mega members only, the DreamHaven Mattress Gallery. Targeted to independent retailers interested in entering the mattress space, the 14-bed Serta lineup occupies 600 square feet of floor space and includes interactive point-of-sale displays.
Representatives of Tempur Sealy International reintroduced a special version of the Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel collection that was designed exclusively for Mega members. The beds begin shipping this month and are expected to sell well, especially during the Black Friday promotional period, according to a news release.
Providing insights into successful bedding sales also was a central focus at the conference, with several Mattress University sessions that featured Mark Kinsley, staff vice president of marketing for Leggett & Platt Inc.’s Bedding Group, and Bob Muenkel, director of sales education for the Serta brand.
To assist members with reputation management, Mega released WebFronts Review, an application that aggregates customer reviews from social media platforms and helps retailers respond quickly. They also can use the tool to solicit reviews from customers after each sale.
