Hartford, Connecticut-based mattress maker Gold Bond has named retail and bedding industry veteran Jerry Colpitts a territory manager.
Colpitts succeeds John Worley, a long-time Gold Bond sales representative who died recently after 19 years with the company.
In his new position, Colpitts has responsibility for sales in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, and reports to Bob Naboicheck, Gold Bond president.
Colpitts, who has 40 years of experience in home furnishings, began representing Gold Bond in 2015 as an independent rep. From 1995 until 2008, he was an owner and one of the founders of two Massachusetts retail chains, Slumberrest Mattresses, Futons and Waterbeds; and Bedrooms. He sold his share in the businesses in 2008. Prior to that, he was general manager of Waterrest Bedroom. Colpitts began his career with furniture retailer Scandinavian Designs.
“Jerry is a great addition to our sales network in this vibrant region,” Naboicheck said.
“We’re confident that our retail partners in Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine will benefit from Jerry’s retail expertise and skilled sales knowledge.”
