Protect-A-Bed, a Chicago-based supplier of mattresses, protection products and sleep accessories, has hired Kara Lineal as vice president of marketing, a new position at the company.
Warrick Bell, who previously managed marketing efforts, is now vice president of product innovation and leads the company’s product innovation and development.
In her new post Lineal is responsible for overseeing the strategic marketing direction of Protect-A-Bed and its REM-Fit and ThermalStrike brands. She reports to President John Rachid.
Prior to joining Protect-A-Bed, Lineal was director of marketing for Chaney Instrument Co.
“Kara is a natural fit for our team and has a great deal of experience working with consumer products and a strong background in digital marketing,” said James Bell, chief executive officer and founder of Protect-A-Bed. “Her expertise and achievements in launching a variety of consumer goods will be largely beneficial as the company continues to progress toward reaching its Vision 2018 goals.”
With Lineal’s appointment, Warrick Bell has shifted to a deeper emphasis on product development. He has been with the company for more than five years, overseeing the development and launch of new products, including the REM-Fit Active, a sleep and activity tracker, and Zeeq Smart Pillow, designed to analyze sleep and intelligently play a role in how people sleep each night.
“Warrick has proven himself in helping the company move the needle in the sleep technology industry,” James Bell said. “We’re excited for what the future holds and the ideas he’ll bring to the table as we continue to advance innovation in how people rest and recover.”
