Atlanta-based mattress major Serta Simmons Bedding LLC has named Melanie Huet chief marketing officer, following an extensive search.
Most recently, Huet was vice president of marketing beverages and snack nuts for Kraft Heinz Corp., where she was responsible for a $4 billion portfolio, including brands such as Capri Sun, Kool-Aid, Maxwell House and Planters. She previously held brand management roles at Kimberly-Clark and Unilever.
In her new position at SSB, Huet reports to Michael Traub, chief executive officer.
Traub said: “With the growth of the direct-to-consumer segment and increasing competitiveness in traditional retail, the need to differentiate and build brand awareness across our house of brands has never been greater. I am excited to have Melanie join SSB and lead this effort. She will strengthen all our great brands and evaluate new opportunities to reach customers more directly.”
SSB operates more than 30 manufacturing plants throughout the United States and Canada.
