The 13th annual Ante4autism Poker Tournament will take place Saturday, 3 p.m., Aug. 21 at the South Point Hotel and Casino’s Grandview Lounge on the eve of Las Vegas Market. Located at 9777 South Las Vegas Blvd., the hotel is a new venue for the event and is offering a special room rate for attendees.
The fundraiser supports autism spectrum disorder advocacy, education and research. The event attracts players, contributions and support from across the furniture and bedding industries and beyond. Many companies and individuals sign on as sponsors each year at a range of donation levels. Ante4Autism was founded by bedding industry member Doug Krinsky, whose son has ASD.

For the second year, the night’s winning player will be crowned the “Apollo Jett Grand Champion” in honor of the young son of longtime event co-hosts and professional poker players Karina and Chip Jett. Apollo had ASD and passed away at age four.
Proceeds from this year’s tournament will be donated to five ASD-related charities and institutes: Autism Speaks, F.E.A.T. — Families for Effective Autism Treatments of Southern Nevada, Cincinnati Center for Autism, National Autism Association of Southeast Ohio, Rich Center for Autism.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, one in 59 children is diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. ASD is a neurological and developmental disorder that begins early in childhood and lasts throughout a person’s life. It affects how a person behaves, communicates and learns.
